How To Help

Giving (and other) opportunities to help Outdoor & Retreat Ministries

"We live our servant ministry to share Christ's love with all we encounter."

That's the purpose statement of the Outdoor and Retreat Ministries staff. We invite you to join in that ministry of service to our guests by helping provide scholarships for those who are economically challenged and by helping improve our facilities. If you are part of a United Methodist church, you can send your gift through the Advance Special Rainbow Covenant process. There are eight Advance Specials that can be part of your church's Rainbow Covenant giving. If you wish to give your gift individually,  send your check to Outdoor and Retreat Ministries, 200 Stam Street, Williams Bay, WI 53191. If you are interested in making a gift of life insurance, property, or to leave this ministry in your will, please notify us and we can meet with you to make all the proper and necessary arrangements to fulfill your desires. You can also give time and work as a volunteer to support the ministries of ORM. For more information, contact Bruce Nelson at 1-800-NICCAMP or orm@niccamp.org

WAYS TO PROMOTE CAMP WITHIN YOUR CHURCH

Rainbow Covenant Advance Specials

Outdoor & Retreat Ministries

Camping Scholarships: (50000036)
Goal:
$5,000

New camping programs are created every year. Local churches have the opportunity to help less fortunate campers participate in these wholesome Christian experiences. Pioneer Fund for New Camps for/from Ethnic Caucuses
and Persons with Disabilities: (
50000039)

Reynoldswood Wish List

Pay Off Camp Service Truck: $2,100

Sand/Salt Spreader: $1500
With CRIKET our road maintenance needs have increased.  This equipment would greatly assist our work to keep Camp accessible every day all winter.

75 HP Merc Outboard:  $2000
The motor on one of our pontoon boats died this summer and needs to be replaced before summer camp opens in 2010 so we can continue to offer boat rides to campers in summer and fall months.

Windows for Manor and Kitchen
Need 70 new windows to replace inefficient windows in Manor House and our camp Dining Hall.  These buildings are busy year around and window replacement should cut energy usage by 15%.  We have a generous bid of $300 per window from Climate Shield Windows to build and install all windows.

3 Additional Solar Heating Units for the Camp Pool
Panels cost $300 each and would help us warm pool waters quicker in the early spring and late summer.

Archery Equipment
Current equipment is showing its years of usage.  New Finger Guards, Arm Guards, and Target Covers are needed for the 2010 season.

C.R.I.K.E.T. Camp
C.R.I.K.E.T. is an After School program which serves primarily low income children from the Dixon community.  With 42 5th and 6th graders currently enrolled, the need is for $60 per camper to be used as matching funds for a grant from the Illinios Title 20 program.  This would give each of our C.R.I.K.E.T. kids a week of camp.

Vacuum Cleaners
Six
are needed to allow vacuum cleaners to be easily available to cabins and buildings throughout the camp.

Basic Gardening Tools
Three
sets of basic gardening tools are needed to assist volunteers and staff in caring for our expanding landscaping of the grounds.

Basic Wrench Sets
Two basic sets of metric and sae wrenches would allow us to equip the pool house and our camp truck with a basic set of tools.

Socket Sets
Two
sets of ¼, 1/2, and 3/8 drive sockets are needed along with ratchets to equip the pool house and camp truck.
